Former lawmaker representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, says the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is now united, focused and repositioned for greater success.
Atuma made the declaration following a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja, where party leaders addressed lingering issues within the state chapter. He commended the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for what he described as proactive leadership and decisive intervention in resolving internal misunderstandings.
He also acknowledged the role of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, whose presence, he said, reinforced confidence and discipline among party stakeholders.
The meeting, chaired by Yilwatda, had in attendance top national officers, including National Secretary Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Eneukwu, National Vice Chairman (South East) Ijeomah Arodiogbu, and National Welfare Secretary Donatus Nwankpa. The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiru Onyejeocha, and other Abia stakeholders were also present.
According to Atuma, discussions were frank and result-oriented, leading to the resolution of disputes arising from recent congress arrangements.
“There is no faction in Abia APC,” he declared, stressing that the party is now anchored on discipline, inclusion and collective responsibility.
Yilwatda affirmed that all outstanding issues have been amicably settled, expressing optimism that future party activities in Abia would be rancour-free.
Atuma concluded that unity remains the bedrock of victory, assuring that the APC in Abia is fully prepared for sustained political progress.
